At Abavia's Vocation Village Farm Hub we offer an unparalleled learning experience for students aged 16 to 25, providing a deep dive into the world of dairy farming. As a key part of our Vocation Village, the Farm Hub is designed for those who are passionate about agriculture and want to gain real-life experience in managing and understanding the various skills required to work in the dairy industry, as well as related farming and agricultural employment.

Expert Guidance

Our programme covers all aspects of farming, including:
 
Herd Management: Students learn the essentials of caring for a dairy herd, understanding animal health and nutrition, breeding, and milking routines.
 
Milking Technology and Techniques: We introduce the latest in milking technology and traditional milking techniques, offering a comprehensive view of the milking process.
 
Livestock Husbandry: We have a pet farmyard with goats, alpacas, donkeys, sheep, and chickens, giving students the opportunity to broaden their livestock husbandry experience beyond the dairy herd.
 
Sustainable Farm Practices: Emphasising sustainability, we educate students on eco-friendly farming practices, animal welfare, and resource management.

Hands-On Learning in a Working Farm Setting

The Farm Hub is set on a working farm, providing students with a hands-on learning environment. This real-world setting allows students to apply their knowledge directly, experiencing the day-to-day operations of a successful dairy farm.​​
